December 27, 2024
It was 50 years ago, when I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. Lasted about 12 months.
Never was a real decision on why I got it.
It was wild at first. None of the local clinics could figure it out. Spent 8 hours at the Wheaton clinic. I could walk, when we got there. Had to use a wheelchair when we left. Went to Glen Ellyn clinic. They are the ones that sent me to CDH. Got there, and they put me in a new unit, I think, at the time.
It was called intermediate care. I was in a room with 3 other folks. All of us had different things wrong, but none, at the time were intensive care worthy. The staff was terrific! So we’re the doctors.
So much more happened. I’ll write about it further shortly.
I just thought it was an interesting milestone.
Peace…
All my love…
